香港天主教會積極參與香港國際電影節
《十個拆彈的少年》榮獲2016年天主教文化獎

香港天主教會再度參與香港國際電影節,頒發「天主教文化奬」,由丹麥及德國聯合製作的《十個拆彈的少年》奪得。天主教香港教區主教湯漢樞機獲邀擔任頒獎嘉賓,頒奬禮於四月二日晚上假座星影匯舉行。湯樞機在二百多名觀眾及傳媒的掌聲中,頒發奬座。

評審團表示:「一群德國少年士兵被逼在漂亮的海岸清拆大戰中埋下的地雷,因戰爭變得卑劣的軍人從他們身上找回同情心。影片包含強而有力的比喻,象徵回鄉的承諾,並在二次大戰後變成地獄中的人間尋回希望。」

Land of Mine

評判團讚賞11齣候選影片的質素,西班牙及阿根廷聯合製作的《人狗情未了》得到特別讚賞:「影片以幽默手法,展示當人面對死亡時,惦記親友、同事甚至惱恨的人,學懂反省及聆聽真我。」

「天主教文化獎」由香港公教廣播影視協會協辦,自2004年在香港國際電影節設立,以鼓勵電影工作者製作更多高質素的電影,發揚積極的人性價值。是次評審團成員包括墨西哥影評人艾格盧比奧,日本導演松本准平,及本地代表李家文。

“Land of Mine” won the SIGNIS Award at
Hong Kong International Film Festival 2016

Hong Kong, April 2nd (SIGNIS) Land of Mine (Under Sandet) directed by Martin Zandvliet (Demark/Germany) is the winner of SIGNIS Award at the 40th edition of Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF). His Eminence, Cardinal John Tong, Bishop of Hong Kong, presented the trophy during the awards gala with applause from hundreds of audiences in the Metroplex, the latest completed commercial cinema with 9 screen multiplex.

‘A man degraded by the war discovers compassion for a group of young German soldiers consigned to clear a beautiful landscape infested with mines. A powerful metaphor about the promise of coming home and search for hope inside the hellish aftermath of the Second World War.’

Land of Mine

The Jury complimented the festival office, for their high quality of film selections with a wide spectrum of cultures and geographical representations, decided to give a commendation to:

Truman directed by Cesc Gay (Spain/Argentina) ‘it shows in a humorous manner how people miss their family, friends, colleagues and even those they have crossed when they are facing death, and how they learn to reflect on themselves and listen to their hearts.’

SIGNIS Award has been introduced to HKIFF since 2004 and co-organized with SIGNIS HONG KONG. It is given to films for cinematic excellence in expressing social and humanitarian concerns, as well as spiritual and artistic values.

Members of the SIGNIS Jury were Edgar Rubio (Mexico, President), Jumpei Matsumoto (Japan), Kaman Lee (Hong Kong).
